For an artwork to be considered a “mural” it is necessary to go beyond its size. A great format does not always mean a mural.
The creation of mural style works has been a very important segment of my career, and it something I profoundly enjoy. It is important to consider what will be the surroundings of the painting, the visual lines that intervene, the incidence of direct and indirect lightening, as well as the theme and the relationship between the composition and the dynamics that are going to be surrounding the mural.
It is a complex work, usually done over months, and that I normally take under commission. The first step is to discuss with the artist a series of terms and specific conditions after which I will elaborate a proposal based on descriptive sketches. Finally the sponsor would need to approve of the project and the execution of the artwork can begin.
I normally complete one such work approximately every two years and it always a project that I am very passionate about.

Para que una obra sea considerada una pintura “mural”, es necesario ir más allá del tamaño. Un gran formato, no siempre es una obra mural.
La creación de obras de carácter mural, es un segmento muy importante en mi carrera y es algo que disfruto profundamente. Es importante considerar lo que será el entorno de la obra, las líneas visuales que intervienen, la luz directa e indirecta que incide, la temática y la relación entre la composición y las dinámicas que van a rodear el mural.
Es un trabajo complejo, de meses, y que normalmente hago bajo encargo. El primer paso es discutir con el artista una serie de términos y condiciones específicas, después, yo elaboro una propuesta a base de bocetos descriptivos, y finalmente, el patrocinador, da luz verde a la ejecución de la obra.
Normalmente hago un trabajo de este tipo cada dos años, aproximadamente, y es algo que siempre me apasiona.
